And since it's kind of a slow week, I thought I'd entertain you with some of the funny stuff my kids do...Molly put a kitten in her "trunk" and took it for a drive....the kitten was NOT thrilled.
Hubs and I went to the Royals game...we had 6th row seats which was AWESOME...however, we didn't stand a chance at catching anything since as you can see, the guy to the left of Steve with the Nike swoosh was a row down and STILL like a foot taller than him...he totally blocked all incoming t-shirts, hotdogs, balls, etc...dang.

This was a top tier for a cupcake tree. The couple wanted cupcakes at there reception and decided to go with Baby Cakes...apparently they do not offer any type of cake so I did the topper....sounds like an opportunity there, eh?
This wedding was at the Mission Theatre in Mission, KS...cream cheese iced with satin ribbon and fresh floral topper....
This cake was at The Mission Hills Country Club... the cake is iced in buttercream with the vows piped around the edges and adorned with satin ribbon. This is one fancy place! I brought my son along as my official "door opener" and he was really excited...he really wanted to hit a few balls but I told him that I was pretty sure it was a private club!
And my new favorite venue...well, it was pretty cool but I may still be partial to Drexel Hall but anyways, this wedding was at Benton's at the Westin Crown Center....this was WAY cool. The restaurant is on the 20th floor of the hotel and all four sides of the place are completely glass. You can see the city in every direction...what a view! This bride choose to do centerpiece cakes for her guests....white cake, chocolate cake, peanut butter cake, key lime cake, and lemon cake...Yumm-O!
Here is the view facing downtown KC
Here's a pic of the cakes on each table and two solid walls of glass...COOL!
and a shot of Liberty Memorial in the background. Liberty Memorial is Kansas City's World War I Museum...
Ok y'all, thanks for looking, see you next week! :)

a baby shower...
a wedding in Lee's Summit at Legacy Park. Iced in buttercream with fondant swags (brushed with super pearl) and fresh daisies!
I thought this cake was cute like this with buttercream scroll and satin ribbon...
but the brides attendant came out and said, "Oh yea, here's the topper..."
A KC Chiefs grooms cake with chocolate buttercream...
This soccer ball cake and the Nordstoms bag were for twins....obviously the girls had WAY different tastes! :)
and this my friends, is why we let the husbands do the grilling. My poor hamburgers! I tried to grill for Fathers Day and this was the end result. :( So I baked some salmon with ginger sauce instead...it was yummy!

This Nemo cake was for a 3 year old boy...not sure why the pic won't stay turned but oh well!
Guitar Hero! Yay!!!!

Herbie Husker grooms cake....
It was so windy this Saturday and this wedding was outside in a tent...the sides of the tent were flapping and I was so afraid it was gonna blow my cake over! Three tiers white cake with strawberry filling and cream cheese icing
The words on this cake are "This Place Forever"...you should have seen the place....this beautiful log cabin on top of a big hill in the middle of nowhere...you could see for miles....awesome! Three tiers carrot cake with cream cheese frosting...
This was at a cool place too...Staley Farms Golf Club in North KC...5 tiers all iced in buttercream with quilt pattern and random scrolls and edible pearls
Four tiers with random dots in different shades of pink at Camelot Ballroom in Stanley, KS
Three tiers white cake with "stucco" icing and fresh flowers...
See ya next week :)5/31/08
Ok, so I'm a little late getting these pics up but hey...i've been busy! I did this giant screw cake for a doctor that was leaving the hospital...apparently she didn't get a very good deal?
I did this helmet for a guy retiring from the firedepartment...
Helped my friend Kim make a baby shower cake...she was so proud of herself!!!
and this bride said she wanted a "bright and colorful" wedding...mission accomplished, I think.
